Projeto social ensina mulheres de baixa renda a reformarem suas casas

Idealizado pela arquiteta Carina Guedes, o Arquitetura na Periferia oferece assistência técnica a mulheres de baixa renda de Belo Horizonte, MG, ensinando-as a reformar suas próprias casas. O projeto nasceu da pesquisa de mestrado da profissional e, atualmente, recebe apoio da ONG internacional Brazil Foundation.

Tudo começou em setembro de 2013, quando Carina atendeu três famílias e fez visitas semanais ao terreno onde estão as casas, na Ocupação Dandara. Durante meses, encontrou-se com as moradoras e entregou um “kit levantamento” contendo materiais como trena, roteiro de trabalho e uma máquina fotográfica, além de artigos de papelaria (prancheta, papel manteiga e vegetal, bloco de notas, caneta, lápis, apontador, borracha…).

Com esse kit, as mulheres puderam desenhar e medir as próprias casas. Posteriormente, o grupo avaliou os problemas e planejou soluções e melhorias, como acabamentos e revestimentos, mudança na configuração da casa, criação de novos cômodos e montagem de estrutura hidráulica.

Para economizar e com uma verba de R$ 12 mil (desse valor, R$ 9 mil foram emprestados pela idealizadora), as reformas foram feitas pelas mulheres. O esquema de microcrédito facilitou o pagamento do empréstimo: todo mês, as moradoras acertavam R$ 150.

Elas aprenderam com uma pedreira as técnicas de construção para fazer reboco, usar o prumo, aplicar piso… Segundo Carina, trabalhar exclusivamente com mulheres facilitou o relacionamento e a criação de laços de confiança com as moradoras, evitando a inibição.

Atualmente, Carina integra a associação Arquitetos Sem Fronteiras, com trabalhos que abrangem atividades projetuais, jurídicas, consultorias, mobilizações em vilas, favelas, ocupações e quilombos, dentre outras. Seu objetivo é transformar o projeto em negócio social, incorporando conhecimentos de outras áreas.

A próxima etapa já começou, também na Ocupação Dandara, com um novo grupo de mulheres. Outra turma está sendo formada em outra área de Belo Horizonte. Confira mais no vídeo abaixo:
